African Style Dance (2nd Saturdays)
This class is for all levels of dance. It incorporates both traditional and contempory African movement. African Dance looks easy but it is NOT! Learn to dance in this very grounded, strong, and earthy style. It is very high energy, so bring a towel & be ready to sweat!
Belly Dance - Beginner Technique
This class is for people who have never belly danced before or who are still working on basic moves.  Students will learn basic moves and combos and simple traveling steps.  All steps are broken down slowly and frequently. Beginner Technique is a general skills class, teaching moves and techniques used in all belly dance styles. Egyptian Cabaret and Tribal Fusion classes also include beginning techniques that are specific to the respective styles.

Each of these classes are self contained and are perfect for people who's schedules vary and are unable to attend a weekly series.
Belly Dance - Intermediate Technique
This is for people who have taken 3 months or or more of Beginner classess and are familiar with basic moves (but have not necessarily mastered EVERYTHING).  Students will learn basic layering technique, and more advanced travel.  Students will drill intermediate moves such as the 3/4 shimmy and they will be introduced to advanced moves such as the belly roll.

Each of these classes are self contained and are perfect for people who's schedules vary and are unable to attend a weekly series.
Belly Dance - Intermediate - ComboNation
This intermediate level tribal fusion class will be a huge asset for all dancers who want to learn some new moves and edgy combinations. Each week, a different TD instructor will present two to three tribal fusion dance combos that can be modifed for personal use, worked into a choregraphy, or just practiced for fun and experience. The material will be fresh every week, so you won't want to miss a class! This is also a great opportunity to learn from several different teachers and be exposed to the wide variety of style and nuance offered by the amazing team of belly dance instructors at Twisted Dance. All are welcome to join ComboNation! This class will run until the end of the 2011 and may be continued depending on interest.

Belly Dance - Intermediate Series--Drill and Conditioning Boot Camp
This 8 week series is for all bellydance students that are ready to sweat and work it out! This class will focus on conditioning exercises and drills created to build core muscle groups used in bellydance as well as help increase stamina and flexibility. Each class will work with conditioning/drill for different sections of the body (shoulders, arms, and hands; chest, ribcage, and abdomen; glutes, thighs, ankles/feet) in order to give you a full-body bellydance workout. Although designed with intermediate students in mind, this class would also be appropriate for continuing beginners who have had at least four months of continuous technique classes.

It is recommended that students attend the series classes as often as possible. We have several swords that can be borrowed for class at the studio, but if you're interested in purchasing your own, I (Mimi) can give you some recommendations for purchasing.
Belly Dance - Intermediate - American Tribal Style® Level 2 Series
This 12 week series is for people who are ready to move beyond the basics of ATS®.  Students will learn & drill level 2 moves, then will practice the moves in formations with leader changes.   Finger cymbals will be drilled, and danced with. The series set will repeat and drop-ins are welcome

When there are enough people to run a Level 1 class, we will start one up.

Filipino Martial Arts
This class is for everyone: beginners and those with other self defense training. Our studio provides training in the Balintawak style of Filipino Martial Arts. Training includes learning self defense movements using arms, hands, and feet as well as with a single stick. Stick fencing in a dueling format is taught as a way to protect yourself and to disarm or stop your opponent. For more information on Blintawak Filipino Martial Arts, click HERE.
Hip Hop (Teens-Adults)
This class is for everyone, beginners, people who have a hip hop background, and people who are looking for a good workout. Students will learn the basics of this dance style, coordination, and musicality. Classes focus on developing strength, agility, and creativity while learning all aspects of hip hop dance. This is a high energy class that encourages discovering style and personality while executing choreography. Be ready to sweat!
Hoop
This is a beginner level class. Learn the basics of hooping and then build on the basics to learn how to dance with your hoop! Bring your own hoop, borrow one of ours, or buy your own hoop at the studio!
Self Defense
The class is an all levels class for both men & women. Prepare yourself to take action, should you ever need to do so. Learn to anticipate and defend against potential attacks and to remain calm while doing so. Utilize simple martial arts principles and moves to block and deflect.
Tai Chi

Yoga for Everyone!
This class is a gentle yoga class suitable for beginners as well more experienced students. It focuses on stretching, strengthening, and relaxing movements. Flowing moves of Sun Salutations add a bit of cardio and balance work into the mix. This class will leave you feeling longer, stronger, and less stressed out.
Zumba
This class is suitable for anyone in good health. Zumba is a dance fitness program that makes exercise fun! Classes use music dance based on salsa, merengue, and other music styles and forms. Also see www.zumba.com
Free Bellydance Class (1st Sat)
This class is perfect for people who want to test out the bellydance waters at Twisted Dance. Classes will cover how to perform basic moves and will include drilling so that you can get the moves into your muscle memory. Teachers will rotate through, so every month you can meet a new teacher! Current students are welcome too, as it's always good to drill the basics. New students signing up on the day of the free class will enjoy a 20% discount off of any class package they decide to purchase. Other discounts do not apply.
Free (NOT Bellydance) Class (2nd Sat)
This class is perfect for people who want to test out the waters of new kinds of classes at Twisted Dance. Classes will cover basics of the style being taught and give you a good idea of what to expect in regular classes. Classes and teachers will rotate through, so every month you can meet a new teacher & try something new! Current students are welcome too, as it's always good to try out new things or practice things you've learned. New students signing up on the day of the free class will enjoy a 20% discount off of any class package they decide to purchase. Other discounts do not apply.
Private Lessons
This is for people who are self-conscious or people who just want some personal instruction. Each session is built around the student's personal needs. The sessions are held in our private practice area or the main studio. Students may select the instructor they prefer. Scheduling must be worked out between the teacher and the student.

Session are offered in one hour ($25), one-and-a-half hour ($35), and two hour ($40) increments.
